Welcome to my Homepage
I
live in Bellevue, in the eastern part of Nebraska. I
am Danish, and presently I work as a Senior Technical Writer for First
Data. My American husband John is a retired MSgt and and currently
work for ITT at Offutt AFB here in Bellevue. I
came to California after spending almost 11 years at Thule Air Base,
Greenland (from 1979 to 1983, and then again from 1988 to 1995). Many
of my friends, and my family, are in Denmark, but we had a small community
there that reminds me of home, Solvang. Here in Nebraska there is
also a small Danish community, this one named Dannebrog. I
went to school at Sønderbroskolen in Aalborg, Denmark, from
1961 to 1971 and afterwards I went to High School at Nørresundby
Gymnasium from 1971 to 1973. After that I moved to Copenhagen and
pretended to study for some years at Copenhagen University, before
going to Thule Air Base, where I worked for DAC (Danish Arctic Contractors),
in Communications. In 1983 I went to Lubbock, Texas to study at Texas Tech University, and there I got my B.A.'s in Telecommunications and Political Science, and my M.A. in Political Science with a minor in Mass Communications. After
a stint as a journalist in Copenhagen, Denmark, I went back to Thule
Air Base, Greenland, this time for GC (Greenland Contractors), and
worked in Communications and Fuels Management, until I was offered
the Fuels Accountant job at Vandenberg AFB, in Lompoc California,
in June 1995. In 1998 I was offered the job as Chief of Publishing
for Dynamic Concepts Inc, at the same base. When my husband had to
relocate to Nebraska, we went here, and I got the First Data job. Thule Air Base has a beautiful scenery (and big chunk of my heart), but also a lot of icy cold storms and darkness. See the Thule photos on this site. You
